Glass Workshops

Furnace work and other kinds of hot glass

This year we manage our time at the furnace to give you a greater experience.
Have a look below to see what we will be offering from May to September 2010. And don't forget to join the mailing list by providing your postal address details in the 'Contact' space on the main menu.
Unless otherwise stated all workshops are geared towards the absolute beginner - no experience necessary.
We do not reccomend that you give these workshops as a Gift. It is hot difficult and intense so you need to know what you are getting into. If you are on a budget or unsure what hot glass is - make a time to come in and talk to us, it may not be the right kind of glass for you. Learning hot glass is a real committment for all of us!

Beginners Paperweights

No experience necessary. A must for anyone who loves hot glass. This delightful class will take you through the many and varied steps necessary to complete a series of paperweights. This workshop is a weekend AND an evening follow up. Not easy or cheap but sooo satisfying. All supplies and lunches included. Due to demand we offer this class on a first paid-first in basis.

August 28-29 *FULL*

September 18-19  (one place left)

October 2-3  *FULL*

Next Class may be 2011 as it gets too hot after October for beginners. Email (don't phone) Anne by using the contact form on this site for your expression of interest and protestations of heat resilience

Beginners Glass Blowing

Offered ONLY to those who have completed the Beginners Paperweights. Anne invites you back for a closer look at furnace glass. You must have previous ‘hot shop’ experience. Not for the sensitive or faint hearted. This class is offered only to those who have satisfactorily demonstrated mental and physical competency, an ability to listen and follow instructions as well as a sense of humour - you'll need it.
Please discuss your suitability with us if you are considering joining this class.  This class will be scheduled to suit the participants.
