Glass Workshops

There was so much to do in glass in 2008

All workshops have finshed! Glassmaking is a winter sport and it is now getting too hot for beginners to conentrate. Have a look below to see what we will be offering from May to September 2009.
How will you make the choice? Want to know more, more often? Join the mailing list by providing your postal address details in the 'Contact' space on the main menu.
Unless otherwise stated all workshops are geared towards the absolute beginner - no experience necessary.

Beginners Paperweights  2009

No experience necessary. A must for anyone who loves hot glass. This delightful class will take you through the many and varied steps necessary to complete a series of paperweights. Not easy or cheap but sooo satisfying. All supplies and lunches included. Due to demand we offer this class on a first paid-first in basis.

Beginners Glass Blowing 2009

Offered only to those who have completed the Beginners Paperweights. Anne invites you back for a closer look at furnace glass. You must have previous ‘hot shop’ experience. Not for the sensitive or faint hearted. This class is offered only to those who have satisfactorily demonstrated mental and physical competency, an ability to listen and follow instructions as well as a sense of humour - you'll need it.
Please discuss your suitability with us if you are considering joining this class.

Supervised Practice Sessions

Have you done a hot glass workshop with us before? Talk to Anne about supervised practice sessions on Wednesday Evenings. Please note: this is not further training, these sessions are designed to consolidate the skills already learned.

Minor Burner Tutorials (Lampwork/Flamework/Beadmaking)

Minor Burner Tutorials. Any day that suits you. Bookings are essential. Anne will take you through the basics of working with the Minor Burner for lampworking and beadmaking. 2 hours of power.
This class will give you the confidence and basic skills so that you may take your creativity at your own pace. Equipment hire is available to those who have completed this course.
Perfect for those who just want to try before they buy the equipment, for those busy executives looking for a creative release, or for those visitors wanting to try something new. We also have an annealing service for objects made at home. Annealing is a must for all professional Lampworkers.

One Day Beadmaking Workshop  2009

One Day Beadmaking Workshop. Are you shy or would rather learn in a group of other beginners? Join Anne and Katherine in a hilarious day of flameworking and beadmaking shenanigans. Your pace is up to you but there are inspirational demonstrations while you work and handy hints on putting together your fantastic glass jewellery made from your very own beads!

Conference Widows (or any  group of serious persons wanting a bit to explore the mystery of creativity)

Not necessarily for Widows or those left behind at Conferences! A series of short-term workshops for those groups that desire a recreational rather than vocational workshop. No experience necessary. From two hours to a half day, always catered with delicious snacks.  Hen's Parties a speciality.

Make a beautiful pendant from fine silver. Anne will teach you a simple and easy method - your friends will never believe you 'made it yourself'!

'Learn to Draw the Figure'

Perfect for team building events, any shy group wanting an introduction into Life Drawing or to kick start an arts tour. This workshop takes you through the basics of 'seeing the figure' on paper. No experience necessary. All supplies and refreshments provided.

These workshops are very popular and booking is essential. We can cater for group sizes ranging from 4 to 20.

Group Bookings:

Depending on your groups needs. We can arrange anything from a floor talk with the artists and a short demonstration to a full blown day of glass.
